Đúng danh từ là Madison, có nguồn gốc từ New York, USA, được tổ chứ lần đầu tiên tại Madison Square Garden, và từ đó có tên là Madison.

Madison nảy sinh ra từ ý tưởng của cuộc đua "6-ngày" (six day races) nhưng mà "nhẹ nhàng" hơn. Google "madison cycling" thì sẽ biết thêm chi tiết.

Còn mấy hình trên đầu là thi nước rút (sprint) nhưng chỉ có 2 người với nhau, đua cái này dùng nhiều chiến thuật hơn.
