If you are interested in cycling in Vietnam and want to join the cycling community in Vietnam, we hope this forum xedap.org will be useful for you.
This forum is mainly written in Vietnamese but there is no problem if you are a non-Vietnamese speaking cyclist because there are a lot of English speaking cyclists in this forum.
You can make a post or create a new thread to:
- Find the cycling community where you live in Vietnam. There are cycling groups or clubs in most of cities and provinces in Vietnam which you can join.
- Discuss cycling-related issues: where to go, bike maintenance/repair, bike technique, practicing, racing....
I feel merry when our forum is more and more exciting. I am keen on vintage bicycles such as Mercier, Aviac. However I also have got a road bike with Campagnolo group which is also relatively antique. I like to learn about vintage bikes and If you have this interest, you can share your knowledges as well as your experiences to me and other member.
Hello everybody and a happy new year!
The week before Tet I met a man on Kham Tien street (Linh/ Linker). We talked a little bit and we exchanged email addresses. He send me the link to this forum.
I am from Holland and am working in Hanoi for the Hanoi Provincial AIDS centre.
I have a Trek mountainbike that I use for going to work and in the weekends to cycle to Dong Anh.
I will ask my wife to help me read the forums, as I know a little tieng Viet, but by far not enough to understand all the topics.
Anyway; I will have time from April to join cycling with you and am looking forward to ride together!
Biggest welcome to the forum! greetings from xedap.org and we sincerely hope that you will find many interesting topics and your time with us shall be filled with happy hours May I take this opportunity, on behalf of xedap.org, to wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous new year.
Thank you for your welcome!
I come from a family that was/ is always walking with big backpacks or biking. Never booked a hotel; just put a tent in the country side. We never liked lazy vacations. When i was a teenager we went on xe dap to Hungary, England, Germany, Belgium and did many tours in Ha Lan of course.
Even now my father (from 1946) is still packing his ride and exploring the world.
I like riding in the VN country side. My wife's family lives in a small village in Dong Anh and going there in the weekends is really nice. I live in Ton Duc Thang and overall it will take me about 50 to 60 phut to go to my parents in Dong Anh. An average of 25 km/ hour i think.
Traffic can be difficult in Hanoi, but I am used to a lot after all these months in VN and Cambodia. But bay gio toi can di ngu. Some day soon I will try and write about my experience on xe dap in Hanoi so far.
For now; I think it is funny that on my xe dap I go faster than most xe may!
It's me - Linker . I may call you and your father real-crazy-guys-on-bikee, Gouke^^On the forum, we all share our feelings and pics about the trips we made - shared values. I am looking forward to hearing more about biking trips in Vietnam.
Your wife will help you to discover more about members of xedap.org trips on Touring box, or Miền Bắc box. Let me know when you come back from honeymoon trip in Holland.
